| I saw a brief clip on the news yesterday that this deal was in negotiations.
I have no problem with the deal - I totally understand the need for Disney to tap into the 'male' market. The Disney parks do have a lot of Princess stuff, and let's not forget the Hannah Montana & Jonas Brothers stuff, so Pirates / LMA / Star Wars are the only real 'guy' things...
I just hope that Marvel will stay true to their comic characters and not 'Disneyfy' them. A lot of folks grew up with Marvel characters - let's hope that Disney / Marvel can take stuff to a new level... | |

| According to most press releases, Disney is perfectly fine with Marvel maintaining there characters. Bob Iger seems to want to keep the Core Disney (e.g. Mickey, Princesses, and the such) separate from the expanded Disney (e.g. Touchstone and Marvel)while using the creative minds from the markets working together to develop some new interesting combination. | |
