| I have heard that Disney has applied for various government permits for the second Soarin' movie (tenatively a global theme) and that shooting could begin as early as this fall for a late '09 premiere at Disney's California Adventure and Epcot. There is currently no plan to build the attraction at either Tokyo Disney Resort or Disneyland Resort Paris. | |

| That would be awesome...I find it rather lame that California is used in Florida....I am sure they could have produced one for WDW as a stand alone. | |

Well it sounds like it is a permit to make another California one to me, so Epcot would just have a new Cali one

| That would be cool. With attractions that use movie screens (eg. Star Tours, Soarin', O Canada, etc.) - there is always an opportunity to use new movies without changing the physical aspects of each attraction. All that would need changing is the computer technology that tells the attraction to respond (eg. motion simulator, seats / smells in Soarin', etc.).
A Soarin' movie could highlight any place on Earth - it would make sense to show places that would not only be visually appealling, but could allow Disney to use their smellitzers and other add-ons.
Another thought that crossed my mind - Epcot has a world showcase - why not use Soarin' to showcase places that aren't represented in the world showcase? There are so many fascinating places that not a lot of people will have the opportunity to visit. It may only be a 2 minute 'ride,' but it can be a great showcase! Think of the merchandising opportunities - the attraction could be sponsored by the featured country's Ministry of Tourism. DVDs (and other merchandise provided by the Ministry of Tourism) could also be sold at Soarin'.
