Miley wants to quit Hannah Monatana

Teen sensation Miley Cyrus has told her Hannah Montana co-star Anna Maria Perez de Tagle she is “hurting” and wants to quit the hit Disney show after she received global criticism over her racy photo shoot for Vanity Fair magazine at the age of 15.

Showbizspy says Anna Maria, who plays Ashley Dewitt on the popular children’s show says, “Sometimes I’ll talk to her on the phone and she’ll be like, ‘It’s really hard’ or ‘I’m really tired. I can’t do this.’

“It really hurt her inside,” says Perez de Tagle. “She didn’t know that people would look at it like that.” Miley has since apologized for the risqué photos; and Annie Leibovitz - the photographer behind the pictures - said she was sorry for any misinterpretation.

It's tough to take criticism when you're a teenager - you're at the age when you're trying to find yourself and everything is taken to heart.

I like Miley and Billy Ray - they seem really genuine. Although I probably wouldn't go to one of her concerts or buy the merchandise, I have seen the Hannah Montana TV show and it's cute. I think we've all been through a phase or two when our worlds become obsessed with the latest sensation to hit the market.

The photos of Miley weren't bad at all. Considering what photos are out there in this crazy world (Paris, Britney, Lindsay, etc.) - Miley shouldn't have to apologize. Annie Liebowitz is a well-reknowned photographer and I highly doubt she was gonna put hers or Miley's reputations on the line for a photo shoot.

I seriously think that the Paparazzi should stay away from celebrities that are under the age of 18 - even though the celebrities have chosen to act / sing / dance, etc., they still need to be protected until they understand the harsh realities of the business. Millions of people (especially the younger audience) look up to Miley as a role model and would be heart broken if Hannah Montana was to end (and all because someone thought the photos were too revealing? - gimme a break).

Over the last 10 years or so, it seems that the latest sensation is more of a marketing strategy, rather than focusing on someone's musical / acting abilities. As soon as the hype wears off, the person / group fades into oblivion and along comes the next fad. Spice Girls anyone?

There are so many important things that the world needs to be taking care of - let's spend some of the energy on feeding the homeless, finding cures for the many diseases that cause so much suffering, providing shelter for those who don't have it, education, etc., etc., etc.
